CLASS OF 1987
Eddie's Not in Cali Anymore

After graduation, I attended San Diego State for two years, first majoring in theater, then English, planning to be a high
school teacher. After two years, I decided to return to the Midwest (even though I was born in Santa Cruz , I lived in
Missouri from two years old until 6th grade). I left college and entered the workforce, and found myself in the IT field.
In 1999, I found love, and in 2001, I moved to Wichita , KS to be with him I had some difficulty finding an IT job, even with
my years of experience, so I decided that I needed to go back to college. I returned to school at night and obtained my BS in
Computer Information Systems, then went on to get my Masters degree in Management Information Systems. I started
doing some adjunct work at the university where I received my degrees and re-discovered my original passion: teaching.
After a year of working full-time in the IT department of a regional bank and teaching at night, I was given the opportunity to
work for the university full time. I am now full time faculty and Program Director for the Computing Degree Programs at the
same university where I received my degrees. I am on track to begin my doctoral work in CIS at Nova Southeastern
University in Ft. Lauderdale , Florida in March 2008.
My partner of eight years, Dan, is a professor of theory and composition at the same university (oh, come on, wasn't it
obvious? No girlfriend, theater - I was a classic closet case!). We are the proud parents to two pugs, Duke and Sammie, and a
chow-shepherd mix, Brownie. I was a late bloomer in love and career, but it was definitely worth the wait!
I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and hopefully rekindling some friendships. See you in October!
